SharePoint for Administrators is designed for IT professionals who need to manage SharePoint Portal Server 2003 within an organization.  The course consists of equal parts lecture and lab time.  Broad areas covered include SharePoint Portal Server 2003 farm architecture, installations, server farm configuration, security and server administration. 

Prerequisites:  

SharePoint for Business Users or a similar course is required for this course.  This is not an introductory course and students require basic competence with SharePoint.  

At the end of this course the student will be able to:  
Install, using industry best practices, SharePoint Portal Server 2003
Deploy server farms
Administer Windows SharePoint Services sub-sites
 
Administer portal areas, portals and SharePoint servers
Contingency plan using backup, restore and disaster recovery
   functions
